What has been proven is the pen is mightier than the sword.
Since I was very young, I enjoyed writing as an escape from the world. It allowed my imagination to take me places––a space for my emotions and thoughts to run wild. I was in seventh grade when I wrote my first feature film. Since then, I've taken many creative writing classes to hone my writing abilities and approaches. My major was journalism with a focus in public relations, which led to a deep understanding behind news and entertainment.
Similar to my directing inspiration, I enjoy writing film and television stories about the circumstances that put a fork in the road of life. Whether they change us for better or worse, these moments are what I feel the world needs most. I believe that art reflects life which reflects back in art. If I write a story that deeply affects someone to create the change in their life, I have accomplished what I set out to do as a writer. Most recently, a television pilot of mine was a Quarter Finalist in the Screencraft Film Fund competition. In addition to my stories, I have had the pleasure of interviewing and writing for notable blogs and magazines including ScriptMag.com and Final Draft. |
